Mthandeni Manqele in hot soupm Amidst Scandal Involving Ex-Partner and Explicit Photos
In a recent scandal, the controversial South African musician Mthandeni Manqele has publicly apologized to Msoco Khumalo, the fiancé of his former partner Vezile Buthelezi. This follows an incident where Msoco discovered explicit photos, known locally as “mapona,” that Vezile allegedly sent to Mthandeni.
Mthandeni Manqele and Vezile share a daughter but have been separated for over three years. Following their split, Vezile moved on and entered a relationship with Msoco, a devoted fan of Mthandeni’s musical rival, Khuzani Mpungose. Msoco had paid lobola for Vezile, symbolizing his commitment to their relationship.
The drama began when Msoco accidentally stumbled upon the explicit photos sent to Mthandeni. Despite the apparent betrayal, Mthandeni, affectionately known as Igcokamelisha, has urged Msoco to forgive Vezile and continue their relationship. He emphasized that his interactions with Vezile are purely for co-parenting purposes.
“What happened is terrible. Khumalo must forgive Vezile. I want to see them happy together. Mistakes happen; he must understand that. Vezile and I are no longer together. We only communicate because we have a child together, and my role is to entertain people with music. I don’t want to be known as a home wrecker,” said Mthandeni, the Amagqeja hitmaker.
While it remains unclear whether Mthandeni solicited the photos or if Vezile sent them on her own accord, the incident has nonetheless put their past relationship in the spotlight. Msoco has acknowledged discovering the explicit photos but has chosen to keep his comments to a minimum.
“I’m angry, but I’ve reported the matter to the elders. So, I won’t discuss it much in the media. It’s now in the hands of the elders, who will handle it their way,” Msoco stated.
Vezile, when reached for comment, simply replied, “I have nothing to say,” before hanging up.
This scandal adds another layer of complexity to Mthandeni Manqele ‘s public persona as he continues to navigate his career and personal life amidst controversy.
