About the Internship
The selected intern will work closely with experienced educators, gaining hands-on exposure to teaching, classroom management, and inclusive education practices. This is a paid internship that aims to nurture the next generation of dedicated, innovative South African teachers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide instructional support to Intermediate Phase teachers (Grades 4–6) in daily classroom activities.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Support learners with diverse educational needs—academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Engage actively in school life, including sports and extracurricular activities.
- Participate in ongoing training and mentorship provided by the school.
Minimum Requirements
- National Senior Certificate (Matric) completed.
- Enrolled in, or planning to enrol in, a recognised teaching qualification (preference given to B.Ed or PGCE students).
- Proficient in English—both spoken and written.
- Previous experience working with children in educational, volunteer, or caregiving settings.
- Technologically proficient, especially in the Google Suite (Docs, Drive, Classroom).
- Good administrative, organisational, and time management skills.
