Former Generations Actress Letoya Makhene-Pulumo Escorted by Police Amid Alleged Altercation

Former Generations: The Legacy actress, Letoya Makhene-Pulumo, recently found herself at the center of controversy after being escorted by two police vans to retrieve her belongings from her partner’s family home in Mohlakeng. This event followed an alleged violent altercation with her partner, Lebogang Pulumo-Makhene, which left Letoya severely injured and forced her to cut her signature dreadlocks.

The incident reportedly led Letoya to contemplate filing for divorce, with her relatives supporting her decision. She also instructed her lawyer to open a criminal case against Lebogang.

Relatives, disapproving of the domestic violence in their relationship, shared that Letoya had suffered injuries beneath her eyes and a punctured lung due to the assault at the beginning of the previous month. Following the altercation, Letoya sought refuge at a friend’s house in Springs, on the East Rand, due to the severity of her injuries. Heavy makeup was used to conceal her injuries when she attended a television show premiere in Johannesburg.

Letoya asked her relatives to help her find a lawyer for divorce proceedings, and they organized and paid for a lawyer to take her statement. Initially, she wanted to press criminal charges against Lebogang, but later reconciled with her, which angered her family.

In response to these allegations, both Letoya and Lebogang denied any altercation leading to police involvement, suggesting that a family member might have been responsible for the police visit. A police officer, speaking anonymously, confirmed that they visited Lebogang’s home to retrieve Letoya’s belongings.

Letoya stated, “I am not aware of any incident like that,” adding that her home is considered sacred and peaceful due to the presence of initiates. She mentioned that her sisters resemble her and could have been mistaken for her. Lebogang asserted that they were still happy in their marriage and invited anyone interested to visit and see for themselves.
