In a devastating horror crash on Sunday, August 4, four men lost their lives when their vehicle veered off the road and rolled multiple times, ultimately landing on its roof. The fatal accident occurred on the 59 freeway northbound, just before the Kliprivier Road off-ramp in Ekurhuleni.
The incident involved a single hatchback vehicle, which is believed to have lost control before plunging into a ditch. According to Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) spokesman, William Ntladi, the exact cause of the accident remains unclear. “It’s suspected that the driver lost control, drove into a ditch, and rolled several times before it came to a standstill. All four male occupants were found scattered motionless around the wreck,” Ntladi reported.
Horror crash
Three of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while the fourth succumbed to injuries inside an ambulance while receiving medical attention. The scene was subsequently handed over to Ekurhuleni Metro Police officers, and an investigation into the cause of the crash is currently underway.
