Gogo Skhotheni Claps Back at Gogo Maweni Amid Family Allegations: “Handle It Traditionally”

Gogo Skhotheni, the renowned South African sangoma and reality TV star, has fired back at fellow sangoma Gogo Maweni following a series of controversial remarks. The feud between the two escalated after Maweni made sharp comments during an Instagram live session with social media personalities Inno Morolong and Musa Khawula, insinuating that Skhotheni was involving her children in traditional rituals.

In a candid interview with TshisaLIVE, Skhotheni expressed her deep disappointment and frustration, particularly over Maweni’s comments regarding her son, who has been battling health issues since birth. “She spoke about my son who is sick and has been in the hospital for about 12 months. I’ve shared my son’s journey on social media; he was born prematurely,” Skhotheni revealed. Initially, she tried to ignore the remarks about her physical appearance, but Maweni’s implication that her son’s illness was linked to ritual practices was a line too far.

Skhotheni did not mince her words in her response, making it clear that she would not be intimidated. She challenged Maweni to settle their differences in a traditional manner rather than through social media. “I’m not afraid of you with all that you have. If you have a problem with me, get into the ndumba (a traditional healing space) and deal with me. Don’t just make noise on social media,” Skhotheni declared in a live video. She emphasized that dragging her children into the feud was unacceptable and accused Maweni of crossing a serious boundary.

The ongoing conflict between the two sangomas has extended beyond these comments. Recently, a video emerged in which Maweni alleged that Skhotheni’s husband is bisexual. Skhotheni addressed this claim head-on, reaffirming her love and commitment to her husband while questioning why Maweni would meddle in her private life. “She went on to say my husband is bisexual, but even if he is, why would that be her problem? My husband sleeps with me, not her. I love my husband, and he loves me too, so she must just rest and back off from my family,” Skhotheni stated.

On her Instagram, Skhotheni adopted a more measured tone, calling for Maweni to stop her public attacks and respect her family’s privacy. Maweni, in response, posted a message suggesting she had attempted to end their feud by blocking Skhotheni and deleting her number, but felt betrayed by Skhotheni’s continued public comments.
