Rumors Surround Gogo Skhotheni’s Son’s Recent Death and Connection to Gogo Maweni
In recent developments, rumors have emerged concerning the tragic death of Gogo Skhotheni’s son, Monde Jr. Shange, who passed away four days ago. The speculation centers around a photograph of Gogo Maweni holding what appears to be a human skeleton, with some insinuating that it might be the skull of Monde Jr.
The rumors are intensified by the history of public discord between the two traditional healers. Gogo Skhotheni’s son, who had been in a coma for nearly two years, died on Monday at Busamed Modderfontein Private Hospital. His death has sparked a series of unfounded speculations, particularly after claims surfaced that he had been seen in Gogo Maweni’s house.
Gogo Skhotheni, whose real name is Tumi Motsoeneng, is mourning the loss of her son and has requested privacy for her family during this challenging time. A statement from her family released on Tuesday confirmed Monde Jr.’s death and appealed for space as they grieve.
Last December, in a poignant gesture, Gogo Skhotheni had a tattoo done in honor of her son to maintain a sense of connection while he remained in the hospital. She shared with TshisaLIVE, “It’s hard to articulate my feelings while he is confined to a hospital bed. His constant smile was a source of healing for me.”
Monde Jr. had struggled with a severe condition since birth, requiring multiple surgeries due to a missing esophagus. Despite extensive medical intervention, his condition remained unresolved, and he relied on a machine to feed him.
Throughout his life, Gogo Skhotheni was a steadfast presence by his side, visiting him daily between her work commitments. She had hoped to finally bring him home this year, but unfortunately, his death has dashed those dreams.
